1. Acceptance of terms

By using the HostSejour platform, you fully accept these terms of use. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use our service.

2. Service description

HostSejour is a platform connecting hosts (listing owners) and travelers (renters), covering accommodation, automobile and service rentals in Canada.

3. Responsibilities and role of the platform

HostSejour is <strong>solely a platform connecting</strong> hosts and clients. Our role is limited to facilitating contact and, where applicable, online booking. <strong>The platform\’s responsibility ends with the connection made within the website and app.</strong>

Anything that occurs between the host and the client <strong>outside the platform</strong> (physical meeting, handing over keys, condition of the property, stay, service, cash payment, disputes, damages, behaviour, verbal commitments, etc.) is the <strong>sole responsibility of the parties involved</strong>. HostSejour is neither a party to the contract concluded between the host and the client, nor a guarantor of its proper performance.

<strong>Host responsibilities:</strong> accuracy of the listing, compliance and safety of the property or service offered, honouring commitments, real availability, and compliance with applicable laws (taxation, permits, insurance).

<strong>Client responsibilities:</strong> accuracy of the information provided, respect for the property and the host\’s rules, agreed payment, and appropriate behaviour during the stay or service.

Under no circumstances can HostSejour be held liable for any loss, theft, injury, harm or any direct or indirect damage occurring outside the platform.

4. Payments and commissions

HostSejour charges a 10% commission on each transaction. The remainder is paid to the host within the scheduled timeframe. For cash payment, the host confirms receipt in the app.

5. Cancellation policy

Cancellation is free up to 48h before. Beyond that, service fees are not refunded. The host can define specific cancellation conditions.

Collected data

We collect: name, email, phone, booking and payment data. This data is necessary for the service to function.

Data usage

Your data is used solely for the operation of the service and is never sold to third parties. It may be shared with hosts in the context of bookings.

Conversation logging

To ensure everyone\’s safety and to arbitrate any disputes, <strong>conversations exchanged through the platform\’s messaging are recorded and retained</strong>. These exchanges remain confidential and <strong>are only reviewed in the event of a reported dispute</strong> between a host and a client, solely by authorised HostSejour staff, in order to establish the facts. By using the messaging feature, you consent to this recording.

Your rights

You can request the deletion of your data by contacting our support. You have the right to access, correct and object to the processing of your data. However, the retention of conversations for evidentiary purposes in the event of a dispute may take precedence over a deletion request, within legal limits.
